It turns out that audition aids can not only get a lot better, but even a tiny bit of accuracy absolutely makes a huge difference. According to Crow:

This isn’t a turnkey AI band-aid where some brief startup taps into a accouterments market to peddle repackaged university AI (looking at you, Amazon’s second-page AI smart accessories market).

Whisper’s built a lab in California, it’s worked with the Mitsubishi group on research, and its artefact development action includes alive carefully with groups of people who live with audition loss. And, from what I could tell from my chat with Crow, the aggregation really cares.

When I asked why they wanted to build a better audition aid instead of taking the same technology and ability and architecture spy-tech with DARPA for the Pentagon or article like that, Crow said it was because  with Whisper “there’s just such an befalling to help people.” Both Crow and his co-founder decided to create the aggregation after watching loved ones attempt with audition loss and the status quo.
